The army is holding back and watching looters in both Cairo and Suez. Why? The police just let the Museum in Cairo get sacked despite the best intentions from normal Egyptians guarding it. Why?

My friend Tyler is going to become a cult artist. The kind of genius that gets revered later down the line and rabidly sought after once he’s stowed himself away. Check him out.

mcdonalds uses natural beef flavor and dairy in their fries and hash browns. their new fruit smoothie has animal hooves, skin, and bones (gelatin) in it. their apple pies have duck feathers (animal derived l-cysteine) in it. mcdonalds used to lie and say that their fries were made with 100% vegetable oil. vegetarians kept asking them about the natural flavor in...

just because the majority of the media is that way doesn’t mean we shouldn’t critique it, and demand better media. Just because “that’s the way things are” doesn’t mean that should be the way things continue to be.

Why Egypt matters →
If Egyptian unrest turns into an Egyptian revolution, the implications for the Arab world - and for Western policy in the Middle East - will be immense.
Egypt matters, in a way that tiny Tunisia - key catalyst that it has been in the current wave of protest - does not.
Egypt, the most populous Arab state, can help determine the thrust of Arab policies - whether towards Israel or Iran or in the...

Not Shaving My Vagina
mattsadouche:
mybiggestregretever:
My biggest regret ever is not shaving my vagina before “doing things.” He was all like, “eww omg why don’t you shave that’s gross.” And then I’m like, “I’ve never needed to until you came along.” We never ended up doing anything and he broke up with me two days later and told the whole school that I don’t shave. Now I’m horny, alone, and harassed.

How to stand in solidarity with Egypt (an email from Angel)
Dear Friends and Allies, Please excuse the lengthy mass message. For the past four days, crossing boundaries of class, ideology, and religion, tens of thousands of people all over Egypt have been protesting the 30-year regime of the US-backed dictator — and they need our help. In an unprecedented move, the Egyptian...

egyptians are pissed off by how they are treated and want revolution

Perhaps the most damning cable is from Ambassador Margaret Scobey, dated January 15, 2009. The letter calls police brutality “routine and pervasive” and states that “police using force to extract confessions from criminals [is] a daily event.” Embassy informants “estimate there are literally hundreds of torture incidents every day in Cairo police stations alone.”
The rampant abuse...
