What is wrong with this picture?

1.) He is the President. She is being disrespectful. As hell. Period. Point Blank. End of Discussion.

2.) White privilege conditions white people not to see white rage. However, it makes them hyper-aware of Black threat. Newt Gingrich is white rage personified. And for it, he gets loads of applause. So is Jan Brewer, but usually we think of white rage in masculine terms. Gender stereotypes condition us not to see white women as being capable of this kind of dangerous emotional output.

I agree about the second point and think that her behavior is out of line because of racism but can we please stop acting like positions of state power are deserving of respect? This is a man who could pardon Mumia Abu-Jamal, CeCe McDonald, Leonard Peltier, and Breanna Manning, but chooses to let them rot instead. This is a man who chose to send more bloodthirsty armed mercenaries into Afghanistan and refuses to end the occupation of Iraq. He could have sent the national guard to defend Occupy camps against local police thugs. This is a man with a tremendous amount of unearned power who uses that power to perpetuate capitalist supremacy over the world economy and state power over people here and in Iraq and Afghanistan.
