mass-suicide: lettherebecramp: Actually, I think this gets its own post, because the more I think about it the angrier I get. This is my hometown’s current team mascot. His name is “Chief Wahoo.” In motherfucking 2011, it is still considered acceptable to use a racist, bullshit image like this in large-scale media. Racism. Still. Exists. Then again, there is a team called the Yankees which was also a racist term. To my knowledge, Yankees has always refereed to both folks in the northern regions of America and also Americans in general. At the most, based on my knowelege, that would make it an ethnic slur at the most, but not racist. However, perhaps there is some background to that that i’m not aware of… which I’m willing to learn and admit being wrong. *shrug
