Some Lakota v-day cards we threw together in class :) we had fun

The “Teacher Club” and the Student Government are going to have a valentine-gram thingy going on too, two of the guys are gonna go around with their hand drums and flutes to sing people love songs while delivering Lakota cards and candy

An idea! How about we all make some in our indigenous languages? Or failing that, any other language that isn’t English or French or something? These are so cool!

My daughters are making cards today, I totally didn’t even think of this, but it’s a great idea!  Okay hmmm in Plains Cree, some could be: 

kisâkihitin: I love you (a bit risque, but )

mahti ka-wî-miyo-kîsikâni (may you have a good day)  

otôtemihtowin: friendship

We had some cheesy ones, but also some neutral ones like “you’re awesome” or “you’re cool” and “smile!”
